Why not? They're all just pure novelty. You don't need a couple of half hour missions and blank r9 weapons for any pressing reason more than people deserve 'exclusive' collector bonuses of the past. It should be all resold or none... not screw groups over selectively.

Selectively? When have any of these been selective?

Point being? I have them all, and the point is that it was EXCLUSIVE to those who bought it. Granted, it would be nice to see it in stores again, but it will never happen.

Is missing out on a box really that important?
I should have stopped reading after this line, as you are so blind in what you WANT rather than the community. get out of the box kid.

If you wanted the box that badly, you could have just bought the game from a regular store.
uhm...wouldnt I be missing out on the BMP then? o wait, then i could join in the same boat YOU are in for whining and complaining that I did not fulfill the obligations.

And I imagine future mission packs to be handled the same way.
I agree. They should make it a ONE TIME, EXCLUSIVE DEAL.

Did anyone really think they were going to create this kind of content, and then NOT give alternate ways to obtain it?
uh...yeah. kinda defeats the purpose of a promotion eh?

From guildwars.com
For a limited time, when you spend $29 USD (€26/£17) or more in the Guild Wars In-Game Store or through the PlayNC Store, you will get a Guild Wars Bonus Mission Pack for free! The Guild Wars Bonus Mission Pack will allow you to play through four pivotal moments in Guild Wars history.

Earn unique rewards as you go face-to-face with Palawa Joko and his undead army as one of the key figures in the Battle of Jahai. Experience part of Cantha's turbulent past as you witness the violent Tengu Wars. Learn firsthand how the White Mantle rose to power in Kryta. Finally, discover what became of Gwen after the Charr invaded her home and the Searing destroyed everything she'd ever known.

How to Qualify

To qualify for the Bonus Mission Pack promotion, you had to spend a total of $29 USD (€26/£17) or more in the Guild Wars In-Game Store or purchase and activate any product worth $29 USD (€26/£17) through the PlayNC online store, between Noon Pacific Time July 5, 2007 and Noon Pacific Time October 31, 2007.

The Details
The Bonus Mission Pack became available on November 29, 2007. This promotion is non-transferable and is limited to one per account. The Bonus Pack will only be available to the exact account that fulfills this promotion in the in-game store or the exact account on which a qualifying Guild Wars product is activated that has been purchased in the PlayNC store. The Bonus Mission Pack is available only to those players who own at least one Guild Wars campaign.
I think that says that it should and is exclusive

This isnt any different than console games being exclusive for a short while. the only difference is that console games have a larger market, so they can afford to piss off ppl by doing this. not sure about gw.

as this is like the 10th thread on this topic, this is approaching necrophilia/bestiality with said horse.

sadly, i can see anet reigning in on their word and offer the BMP again. i rather they offer something new along the lines of the BMP.

They never said the content wouldn't be available by other means later on. Infact, I thought that was quite clear in regards to the BMP. They never out right said it would be, but it was never denied.

"It is unsure if the Bonus Mission Pack will be available in the official store, no fixed decision made yet."

Not sure what you're really trying to argue here. You missed out on the box, so you feel nobody else deserves to play these missions? We're talking about a small piece of artwork with some pretty artwork on it, that you'll probably never look at more than twice.. right? I never said that you guys aren't upset about it, it just seems rather silly to be comparing exclusive ingame content to a box.

And once again it just comes down to the same argument. Some of us want the new content, and then there's the rest of you who feel nobody else deserves it. Ever.

I don't think it's really a matter of "nobody else deserving it ever" for most of us (not all, some on both sides of this argument are asshats lol)

It's a matter that for the majority the opportunity WAS there but the CHOICE was to save money/get the boxed version whatever and pass on the BMP. There were those who for various reasons couldn't. But mostly...you made that choice.

This has been beaten into the ground...and under the ground, through the Earth's molten core and back out the other side...do we really need to go through all that gooie molten crap again?

Calculated risk. I decided on the online store because otherwise I had no guarantee of getting the BMP. To this day I'd have had no guarantee.

That and the stuff in the box is available online anyway... so it's no big loss. And I'd rather have the BMP than some material I'm only going to look at once.

If I really felt like it I could have gone out and bought a separate boxed copy of GW:EN...! But no, waste of money.

Correction.

Anyways...I went with making a purchase online from the GW Store knowing that I will be missing out on the box and its contents, but only because the BMP was only going to be "exclusively" offered online for only that specific promotion. If they do release the BMP to everyone / for sale, then that exclusiveness of the promotion no longer becomes valid, and thus it means that I have been led to make a purchase I normally wouldn't under false advertising :/

Anet should release the BMP in general, they should charge what we all had to pay for it - 29 dollars.

Then, of course, there will be rage that it wasn't free and should be or that it wasn't worth it. However, Anet had repeatedly said it was intended to be a reward for those that were "loyal" to them and purchased through the online store - I did. This is the same reason why pre-order/collector's editions packages are not able to be tacked onto old accounts, especially true on the collector's edition of Prophecies.

Of course this has been discussed to death and the above is irrelevant because, well just because. Actually it is irrelevant because were it to be relevant then the people wanting it on the cheap would have no case.

You can buy a CE of the campaigns and link it to your old campaign of the same name. You don't get extra slots or anything except the special CE glowies.

CE of campaigns are no longer made, and the remaining copies of Prophecies CE are usually upwards of $100. That is, if you can find any.

I want to address this, because I cannot find a single reference to ""exclusive" and "can only be obtained one way." I checked the BMP Page and I don't see those words or even a hint of that sort of policy. I then checked the BMP FAQ, and a July Dev Update about the BMP, then a later Dev Update I wrote about the BMP, although the second one was about verification, so a bit off topic. And truly, I just do not see any sort of language saying that the BMP will never be available via any other means.

This is important to me because I have relayed the requests of numerous players that the BMP be offered for sale at some point in the future. If indeed ArenaNet and/or NCsoft has stated, flat out, that the BMP would be available only once, only through the promotion, and never through any other means, there would be no point in my relaying those requests.

So I hope you can help me out and show me where we make absolute statements of the kind that you mention, so that I can better understand what I should be advocating on the behalf of players concerning future BMP availability. Thanks.

Can you show me where? I sure don't want to ask for something that we can't offer, because of previous statements about the BMP.

Hmmm... well this:

Quote:
For a limited time*, when you spend $29 USD (€26/£17) or more in the Guild Wars In-Game Store or through the PlayNC Store, you will get a Guild Wars Bonus Mission Pack for free!
and this:

Quote:

Do tend to give the impression that the BMP was a limited time offer. Many people, myself included were under the impression that we would not be able to get it if they didn't take part in this promotion. Therefore I, like many others, decided to do without the boxed version and pay more for it through the ingame store (in actual fact £7.00 more than I could have purchased it through another online retailer).

Personally, I don't really care what happens, I have it and I'm not that bothered if other means to get it arise. But I think a lot of people will.

*My emphasis

keyword there is...FREE. i think that to get the bmp later on, they will just put a price on it. if you get all technical, im entitled to my bmp because i bought gwen at the online store, for 40bucks if i remember correctly, and got the bmp at no extra cost. im sure later on the bmp will go up for sale but then ppl will have to pay for it. the ppl who think they are being cheated or whatever because they payed online and gave up their box and adhered to the promotion, then they can just complain to anet and petition them to sell the box and manual and cds and whatever else we missed out on.
